The other day I got to talk with Josh Ritter, one of my favorite singer songwriters today. I was writing an article on his show tonight at Lewis Ginter and I contacted his publicist to get an interview and she responds with his cell phone number. Yes, you read that right.
This was the first time I've ever interviewed someone of this caliber before. Most of the people I meet are local artists. You can now understand a bit of my excitement/hesitation to call him?
I get a hold of Mr. Ritter and he couldn't be nicer. Very chill and down to earth. I ask my basic questions about what he's working on and music he likes. Then, he turns to tables and asks me what music I'm into, what the city is like, things like that. So my interview turns into two guys shooting the breeze - way too cool for words. I was trying like crazy not to squeal like a little girl.
Now I can't wait for his show tonight. It's an outdoor show at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. Hope it doesn't get rained out.

Don't stop believing that Glee is good
If you hadn't noticed in the last few weeks, FOX has been promoting the hell out of this new show called "Glee" about a high school glee club who defy the social cliques and sing reworked pop songs. I gave it no thought until this past weekend when friends were saying how amazing it was.
I finally broke down and watched the pilot episode, which you can watch on Hulu. The writing was witty, the characters were funny and the story was fun. As soon as I heard the few notes of the a cappella version of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin" I was hooked. I've been listening to it non-stop all day. I may need help.
