Tim Myers lives the good life

I wish I had a fraction of the talent California singer/songwriter Tim Myers has. A former member of the rock group OneRepublic, Myers does his solo thing his own way. Styles of artists like Pete Yorn and Andrew Bird are like putty in his hands as he molds the music into a way he sees fit.

His songs have been popping up in Target commercials left and right. Not a fan of that really, but I don't hold it against him. Everyone needs promotion.

The Good Life EP is available on iTunes

The commercial thing used to bother me, but artists are finding it difficult to make a living. So, I guess if you can make some money off Target or VW or whoever then goodonya.

True. Artists need to make a living, but there's a fine line between exposure and selling yourself out. There have been plenty of examples on both sides. I just hate when good music is overexposed at some corporate giant.

Commercials are like a radio overplaying a song. It takes so much away from the song. One associates the song to a commercial and product - not for it's sound or artist
