I was contacted about singer/songwriter Jay Brannan who has been described having a very Rufus Wainwright sound to him. And I liked it. It's brilliantly simple. A man and his guitar. Nothing overpolished or overdone. The music speaks for itself. It drives deep into your brain with its elegant simplicity and makes you realize that there are still people out there that get music.
Jay just self-released his first album, but he has sold out shows over the past year in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris and many others.

If you haven't seen "Shortbus" I highly recommend it. Jay is delightful in it (and I'm not even talking about the nudity/sex stuff at all). I sought his music out after seeing him sing in it...
I really liked his stuff as well, thanks for the tip. Just got around to listening to it now!
