I was really getting into Richmond band Planets upon first hearing them. They had a nice epic Coldplay meets Saves The Day sound to them and I was eagerly waiting to get the chance to buy their next album.
Upon going to their myspace page today, I found that the dark and stellar look of the page was gone and in its place was something bright and red and gray. And the name "Hope Like Fire" was positioned where "Planets" should be.
Could I have just typed in the wrong address and went to a different band's page? No. Turns out, in the course of a day of looking at the page, the band had decided (for unknown reasons) to change their name to "Hope Like Fire." All the songs they play sound exactly the same as when they were "Planets," but everything else on the page has drastically changed.
I don't know, I kinda like the old name better. That's really shallow of me to judge a band based solely on their name, especially since I had been liking their stuff. The name "Planets" was different and fit their style easily. It suit them better than something as contrived as "Hope Like Fire." I've heard names like that everywhere.Planets Hope Like Fire - Firefly
