I must admit that since my musical tastes have changed over the past few years, some of the stuff I used to listen to has fallen by the wayside. I used to be big on the whole pop punk scene. Yes, bands like New Found Glory, No Use For A Name, the Starting Line and Blink-182 were in constant rotation. I then discovered the indie rock genre which made me disillusioned to the whole crappy mainstream rock that kept getting churned out.
After listening to Echo Screen, I'm realizing some good stuff that I've been missing.
These guys put together some of the best pop punk I've heard in a while. Catchy hooks, infectious lyrics, and an all around good time. Echo Screen takes the cookie cutter mold for punk rock today and puts its own spin on it, effectively making the style their own.
