Record Store Day a success

So Record Store Day, while absolutely amazing, ended up being a little more low-key than I though it would be. I guess I was hoping for more of a big blow-out kind of thing. However, it was still lots of fun -- free giveaways, sales, awesome bands. What's not to love?

I also managed not to spend a dime. 20% store wide sale and I actually kept myself in check. I did, however, end up raiding the free table and took everything I could get my greedy little fingers on. I came home with no less than 15 CD samplers -- all of course featuring artists I've never heard of. Now comes the fun part of listening for hours upon hours, weeding out the crap and finding the gems.

I think I'm set with new artists for quite some time. Or at least until next year's Record Store Day.

Here's a small sampling of what I've enjoyed so far.
honeyhoney - Little Toy Gun found here
Cinematic Sunrise - Goodbye Friendship, Hello Heartache
The Egg - Nothing
Dave Barnes - Until You
Peter Von Poehl - The Story of the Impossible
Jamie Lidell - Little Bit Of Feel Good
