Nothing's gonna change my world

The Beatles fan in me couldn't wait another moment to see "Across the Universe." I finally got a chance to see it today and it was everything I hoped it would.

Revamped Beatles songs sung by the actors themselves (almost) seamlessly integrated into a story of two people in love during a time of war, political revolution and clashing cultures.

My favorite part was how all the characters were even named after Beatles songs - main characters Jude ("Hey Jude") and Lucy ("Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"), Lucy's brother Max ("Maxwell's Silver Hammer"), soul rocker Sadie ("Sexy Sadie") and tons more.

My only issue with the film was its attempt to be very out there and trippy. In some cases it worked (during "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "I Want You (She's So Heavy)") and in other cases, it looked like a complete mess. At some points, I felt like I was on drugs myself.

But overall, it was an excellent movie and I'd probably see it again soon.

I have wanted to see this but I am a little scared just because I am not really a fan of musicals and I know this one is a lot different then most but I still find myself hesitating.

Now that I have gotten the OK from you though maybe this weekend will be it.

I have not been able to stop listening to the soundtrack since I saw the movie last week. It is absolutely amazing.

There are some trippy points in the movie where you're like what? But overall, it is a wonderful film. I think you would enjoy it.
