Here are some musicians that have come across my radar recently:
The Commonwealth hails from Louisville, KY and their first album He Thinks He Scares Us is a compilation of what's been called an "avant-garde tunes with a unique blend of instruments." The Commonwealth was featured in last year's installment of Burn To Shine, a documentary by former Fugazi member Brenden Canty and film director Christopher Green.
Bloody Genes
Honestly, I tried looking for an official website, but there are many bands out there called The Commonwealth ranging from easy listening to hardcore metal so you're on your own in finding more about them. Sorry.
Bowerbirds are an earth/nature-bound duo (Phil Moore and Beth Tacular) who create gorgeous music using bird-like 3-part harmonies, organic percussives, and unconventional chords/song structures.

Dark Horse
both songs from their new album Hymns for a Dark Horse
The Politik is the project of producer/remixer Mark de Clive-Lowe and Bêmbè Sêguè. The result is an album where soul, jazz and hip hop are successfully merged together in a surprising yet charming mix.
Politik Mixtape - a 13-minute collection of the Politik's music.
I fell through the looking glass and randomly came across Strangers in Wonderland.
Their songs are about life and how sometimes the world on the other side of the mirror slips through to this side to trip us up. Sometimes when we look into that mirror we want what's on the other side.

Behind The Mask
Ethan Lipton and his Orchestra is a soft, relaxing, hilarious and dark look at everyday life. Salsa beat with lyrics that make you turn your head "All I wanna do is just hit it/ We’re havin’ a relationship." This song seriously made me laugh out loud.
